Summer Begins

The end of June is almost here. I had hoped to get two posts up this month, so much for my best, laid plans. At the beginning of the month, we went camping with our homeschool group for our annual End of the Year camping trip. We went to San Clemente State Beach, enjoyed great weather, the beach, friends, food, games, campfires, etc.

B~ had her first experience with jury duty and did some volunteer work for a community theater. We went to two graduation parties and a birthday party. L~ took the CHSPE (Calif. HS Proficiency Exam), went to a wedding, and a medical screening all in the same day. Then left the next day for her first experience at Hume Lake, a camp our church attends yearly.

I rented one of my vacancies, one down, three to go. Now I'm preparing for a mission trip for July. L~ & I will leave on the 19th with a team from our church. We will be going to a Navajo & an Apache Reservation, working with churches in each location. I will be working and doing the Lions share of planning for two women's events. D~ was hoping to join us, but will be staying behind partly for work, and partly for his mother who is having health issues. We appreciate you prayers for the planning and execution to the mission trip and for the health issues of our parents.

Colorado Here We Come

Before we talk Colorado, I want to report that DD2 successfully made it to Tennessee and back. She worked in crafts, doing VBS with some inner city kids. She had a good but tiring time, and met lots of new friends from around the US.

It was her first time flying, and this week she'll get to do it again. We're heading to Colorado to stay with some close friends. It will be my second time and DD1's first time. DH flies to often to count. Hopefully when I get back I can post some pictures taken with our new camera. The old one died. Hope you are enjoying your summer, check back next week for an updated post.

Next stop Nashville

Well I survived the CHEA Convention. It was good to hear Gregg Harris and Ken Ham again. As usual I was encouraged, to continue on and while there are areas that need fine tunning, it seems we've done some things right. I also bought three curriculums, and will let you know what I think once we start using them.

Yesterday the girls and I enjoyed the beach with their cousin and sampled Starbucks new mango banana smoothie drink. After that DD1 took her cousin shopping, while DD2 completed her last day of dance camp. Today, DH flew up north for work and I waited in vain for the phone to ring with prospective tenants.

Next stop is Nashville for DD2, she leaves on Sat. to join over 700 others be the hands and feet of Jesus in that city. She will be doing crafts for VBS, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. Over 20 years ago I worked at a summer camp in the crafts department.

Well, summer is flying by, hope your enjoying yours. Time to work on some more lenses for Squidoo.

Only 2 days until the CHEA convention

Well it's late, so this won't be long. I was supposed to do other things today, but ended up back at squidoo.com working on my WIDE shoes page. While I have my schedule worked out for the convention, I still need to do more prep, like making a list of the things I want to look at. So, that's a must do for tomorrow.

Other things that went on today, DD's went to the beach, awe summer. DH and I went to a short CERT meeting, then made copies and split a frozen yogurt (choc. malt with Almond Roca topping.) I also worked on Quicken, and did some apartment business.
